Bay of Islands and dolphins

Our next trip is a boat trip around the bay, we travel out to the "hole in the rock" and as the weather was good we were able to drive through it on the boat. It didn't like we would fit but once you start going through it was huge. As we went around the other side of the small island, the rock formation has naturally shaped in the profile of a woman's face - hope you can see that from the photo!!

We whizzed around looking at the scenery and stopped off on one of the small islands too. But the real highlight of this trip was seeing a pod of dolphins just out in front of us playing in the water. We were able to sit for a while and just watch them jumping out of the water and playing, this in fact proves very hard to capture on a camera!! But I did my best and and managed a few ok shots which you can see. When we got back to dry land we had lunch at 35 degrees south overlooking the marina.

  1. So funny you saw the dolphins, as I have prepared a blog post for next week with dophin shots we took in Hawaii a few years back - I've been looking back at hold photos and found them. That place looks really great.
