Nelson

After collecting our car we head straight to Nelson and get checked in and head out for a walk around and find a great thai restaurant called Golden Bell - we have yummy pad thai and beef massaman.

Saturday morning we head to the market where they have lots of fresh veg, fruits (yummy cherries), clothes, plants and crafty things. After a wander we head off for some coffee at Zuma Coffee.

Latte and muffin consumed we head to Tahunanui beach. It’s a lovely long beach where the tide goes out a very long. We take a very long walk along the shoreline and look at the mountains in the distance with some snow still on them. A lovely afternoon walking, stopping off for a bit of lunch en route.

The next morning we are heading to Motueka. A stop off in Mapua to look at the small harbour and shops and galleries. The motel is lovely set in large gardens and we spend a relaxing afternoon, take a walk along the waterfront where the tide is right out and we walk out across the mud. Back to pack for our kayaking adventure in the morning.
