We start Friday with a walk to the top of the Gondola in Queenstown. This is an ascent of approx 420m up through Douglas Pine and Beech forest and quite hard work. But the views from the top are amazing. It has been drizzling today but with sunshine as well and when the cloud lifts from the mountains later in the day we see that the rain fell as snow up there so they are now white!
We decide to go on the Zip Trek Eco Tours for our journey back down. This involves attaching yourself to zip wires and flying through the forest on 6 different wires. The last one is the steepest zip wire in the world and we went pretty fast and even managed to do a few travelling upside down.
