We start to head north along the coast to a place called Moeraki which is a very small place but is very famous for its boulders which are on the beach. They were formed millions of years ago and have been revealed due to coastal erosion. They are quite amazing to see on the beach, we went in the morning when the tide was out and then went back again later in the day when the tide was back in again.
We also went to the lighthouse in Moeraki and wandered down to the rocky outcrop where there is a yellow-eyed penguin reserve. These penguins are pretty rare and if you have been following my blog, will know that we haven't managed to see them previously at other locations. But today we struck lucky and managed to see not just one but 3! A baby chick and 2 adults, one of which was only 2 metres away from us...amazing little things!
Those boulders look amazing. And the those penguins really cute. At last you so some.
