Off to Melbourne

On Wednesday we head off to the airport for our flight to Melbourne. We are staying with Sam (friend from KPMG) and her husband Luke and their 2 children, Zara and Tyler. Our first day is spent driving up into the hills to the east of Melbourne, picnic by the lake, then a tour of the swankiest residential area in Melbourne!

On Friday Matthew and I caught the tram to St Kilda (which is by the water) and had a walk around taking in the sights of Luna Park (an old amusement park), the pier (quite a short one) and all the cake shops on Acland Street.

In the evening we head in to town with Sam and meet Luke for some Friday night drinks and dinner. We have dinner at Rosato and drinks at a funky little bar called Cabana. We have a tour of the laneways and roads near to Federation Square which reveal hidden bars and clubs right beside big corporate offices and some amazing graffiti which is "allowed" and gets changed on a regular basis.
