Hanmer Springs via Kaikora

After our relaxing few days we head off to Hanmer Springs, stopping off in Kaikora for lunch and get to see lots of seals relaxing and basking in the sunshine on the rocks. We take the winding road up to Hanmer Springs where there are thermal pools and some walking and mountain bike tracks to be explored. We settle for a walk to the top of conical hill and walk down through the area around the town. It is a small, quiet town with some shops and the thermal pools but set in amongst some amazing mountains.

We leave Hanmer Springs and are on our way to Christchurch. On the way we visit a few private gardens and get to see a lovely garden called Breedenbroek Garden. For me it is just as a garden should be, with lovely lawns, lots of herbaceous borders and great trees - I felt very inspired!
