Our next stop is the small village of Renwick just on the outskirts of Blenheim which is in the heart of the Marlborough wine region - good for me!!
We are staying at the Olde Mill House B&B, which is probably the loveliest place we have stayed. It is a lovely house, set in a beautiful garden, with all the comforts that you would expect. Our hosts, Diane and Robert, were lovely and we just relaxed and enjoyed our time there. The next day we made use of the free bike hire and head out on a cycle around the area. We call in at Forrest Winery and I do a little wine tasting, while relaxing in the lovely gardens. The Sauvignon Blanc was very nice and apparently available in Waitrose!!! yipeee!
We have lunch at Wairau River Winery, which comes highly recommended for the lamb kofta salad and the beef burger. We cycle into Blenheim, stopping off to pick our own cherries which are delicious.
Was it a wobbly cycle back after the wine tasting?!
